The weather is miserable, although we're not flooding like so many people are, it just keeps raining. And it's not really warm (it's January, it's not going to be warm) and the cold and damp are making my hip ache like anything.
I've managed to start and finish a pair of socks (identical socks, no less) in January, but I'm a bit down on the rest - my Some Assembly Required needs more spinning, which I'm slowly getting done. My Stained glass socks are lovely and a bit addictive, but I can't watch TV or carry on a conversation while I'm working on them. And as I'm holding the two different yarns one in each hand, my left hand is starting to ache a bit with the unfamiliar motions so I take frequent breaks from it.
I've finished a cardigan for Kathryn, really finished as in I've actually sewn the buttons on (normally I count it finished if I've sewn in the ends and have some buttons that will work), and it looks good. It's a green cardigan with little ladybird buttons.

She loves it. The googly eyes at the bottom left of that picture is the top of her frog chair. I'll get a better picture of the cardigan itself soon. It's stocking stitch with moss stitch borders.
I have a new job. I'll be starting at the beginning of February. It's not what I was doing before, and I'm feeling a little ambivalent about it as it's not the same industry I've spent the last 8 years in and I wanted to have my business bringing in enough to keep me going.
And although I'm no longer directly affected, Teh Crazy is still affecting my former colleagues, who are close to tearing out their hair. Whatever else happens, I'm so very very glad I'm no longer subject to it.

Cute cardi and she looks happy, so a definite win! Congrats on a new job; I hope it is the best for you.
Congrats on the new job. Change is a bit of a challenge to accept. The sweater is lovely.
Kathryn is a lovely young lady. The color of the sweater suits her well. I'd like to see the buttons up close. I love cute buttons.
I feel the bluhs, too. I'm tired of being cold and needing boots (it's freezing rain today) and I could use a day in the sun with my toes in the sand and a cabana boy bringing me drinks with umbrellas in them).
*sniffle* SO adorable. And very definitely congratulations on the new job!
