Update of sorts

The finished vest. I'm pleased with this. It's KwikSew 3811 size M (3 - 6 months), which I bought from Sewbox. It went together fairly easily, but when I do it again, I will do some things differently. Firstly I'll remember to actually sew the binding of the sleeves the right way round - it took me an awfully long time to unpick the tiny little bindings from the tiny little sleeves. And I trashed one of them doing so (binding that is, not sleeve). I'll also remember to mark both sides of the fabric where the press studs go, as I had a really hard time getting them in place until I thought of that. Finally I'll make sure that the ends of the neck bindings are caught in the seam sewing the sleeves on, as they aren't quite in this one. All in all I am happy with it, and think that the other parts of the set (trousers and a hooded jacket) should go together fairly easily too.

Fabric all from Fabricland, although I bought the heart fabric some considerable time ago, and I don't think they have any more in stock.
Details of the press studs. First time I've used them.
Details of the neckline. It has an envelope type neck, which I like.
Oh, and some socks! These are matchy matchy socks:) First time ever for hand knitted socks, very pleased. One of the sock legs is about 2 rounds longer than the other, in order to make sure they matched!

In other news, I'll be starting my new job on Monday - I will be the Financial Administrator for Kathryn's old nursery. Somewhat different to my previous job, but I have had quite a thorough handover programme, and I believe I should be able to do it with a minimum of hassle.

However due to the totally different format of the office the chances of me reading blogs or posting to my blog while at work are very very small, so I'm likely to go to an even more unpredictably infrequent timetable, at least at first.

Congrats on the new job!

Oh, unpicking. I've learned all about that in recent months. But your efforts are worth it. Such a lovely little piece!
