Running on empty

I'm completely exhausted. We've had a run of illness (me, then Kathryn, and then Himself), and I'm still not back to my normal self.

The longer days are helping, as is the sun - we've actually had some sunshine!

It will be the easter holidays soon, and boy has the last three months whizzed past quickly. And I haven't touched my sewing machine since I started my job, mostly because I haven't had a chance.

I really miss it, much more than I expected (but then I didn't expect to not be sewing). I made a firm plan to finish my 1940s dress this last weekend, which totally fell through. However, I actually have a whole day off on Thursday (well, I will be watching Kathryn's class assembly first thing) and I am determined that this time, I really will manage to do some sewing. I want to finish my 1940s dress. I want to start my other sewing.

I've recently obtained from the lovely Kitschy Coo a parcel of complete loveliness. It includes several pieces of fabric that I know I can make an entire item out of for Kathryn. So now I really want to get onto my machine and start sewing them up. She's growing, and needs bigger clothes!

Fingers crossed, my next post will have some finished sewing!

I hope you are all on the mend at this point. It's been a sickly winter for us, too. I'm hoping the sun will bring some warmth and health.

I can't wait to see the dress. I am thinking I'd like to make some more spring/summer skirts this year. I wore the ones I made last year a lot and loved being able to say "I made this".
