I have finished Kathryn's dress! Well, all bar the hem, which I will hand sew... soon.I am really happy with this dress. I made a muslin of the bodice to check it would fit. The measurements I made were a bit dubious. I'm glad I did make a muslin as the bodice fits well, and the next size up would be too big.
I'm really pleased with the facing. Usually I mess them up, but this time, I didn't. And it looks good too.
I hand sewed binding over the waist seam because when she tried it on she said it tickled.
This is the pattern, and I bought it *years* ago, and bought the fabric at the same time too. I'm glad I went ott with the amount of fabric as, in the years since I bought it, she's grown bigger. Funny that!
And look, look! Wrap dress nearly finished! I have my jeans on under this for the photo, so it's a bit oddly fitting at the waist. I just need to hem it, and I think I'll sew the facings down to the inner layer of fabric because they're a bit flappy. And also put binding or ribbon over the waist seam as the fabric seems a bit prone to unravelling. But... it's nearly finished:) So pleased. And it's KnitNation on Friday. So. Very. Excited.
