Erm. I meant to blog before this, but Christmas kind of crept up on me!

We had a lovely Christmas, Kathryn got some more ballet slippers from my mum!

My sister and I had pairs of these as kids, and my mum found the pattern and made some for Kathryn, and my nieces for their presents this year. These are actually a lot more purple than they look in this picture.

Kathryn decorated the tree this year, and here she is posing with a bit of tinsel. I love this picture!

And this is what I gave my mum for Christmas. She asked for a dundee cake, so I made her one.

I know everyone else is doing retrospectives of 2011 and goals for 2012. My only goal I'm posting about is to blog more often!

Actual Knitting Content!

This is supposed to be a knitting blog. Here's some knitting!

I'm making the Sun-Ray Ribbing from A Stitch in Time 1 by Susan Crawford (rav link), which I love. I saw it made up at a show, and bought the book on the strength of that one pattern.

I'm making it from some denim blue 4ply, which I've swatched and swatched. I have changed the pattern a bit, mostly I've added a few pattern repeats so I could make the smaller size (the sizing is done with needle sizes, and I didn't like the tension on the larger needles), and some short rows in the front.
The pattern has an opening at the back, and that's where I am now. Looking forward to having this finished in time to wear for Christmas.
