I have finished my
Sun Ray Ribbing! I'm not actually sure I blogged about it to be honest, but I started it just before Christmas. I had a vaguely insane idea that I could wear it for Christmas. I didn't manage it!

Here's a better colour match. And I have some mystery fabric (about 16 metres) that matches it, from my mother. She thinks it's silk but doesn't remember and it's been in her stash for at least 10 years. I'm going to make a high waisted skirt of it to wear with it.

And I'm working on my
pomotomus sock again. Having put it on hold for so long I'm liking it again!

And I have started a new sock. I've run out of unused sock yarn. I know, it's a terrible thing. But I have many leftovers. Some of them have already become squares in my sock yarn blanket. But some haven't so I'm making colour block socks. I'm using some 4ply in a solid colour to unify them, and putting in bands of self striping sock yarn. This is what I have so far:

And Kathryn has an FO too. We got her a sewing machine for Christmas. Unfortunately I needed to take it back and exchange it for a working one, which I did this weekend. And she made her teddy a waistcoat:) She had a little help, but she did sew two of the seams all by herself:) (very proud mummy here)

My Christmas present from my parents was a
pink drawer unit. For me, but for Kathryn's use. It's full of her art supplies. And when I say full, I mean I think we need to get another one!

If I get any chance to do sewing in the next few weeks, I have a pair of trousers ready to sew for Kathryn. They're from a sheet, as this is a test item. I want to check the fit on her, and try out sewing a fly front which is new to me... and looks tricky. I will post pics when I get round to it!

Vavavoom to the sweater!
The sweater is great! I have one or two of those storage units and they are indespensible.
Tell Kathryn, the vest is really good. Sewing is a great hobby/skill for anyone to learn. When I was a kid, everyone could sew and now it seems like hardly anyone can.
oh it's wonderful! It suits your shape so well! Very flattering! Oh and well done Kathryn. That's so lovely and clever! Is it a kiddie sewing machine? Can you even get such a thing?
